The Makani series is a study of the design language manufacturers settled on during the late 2000s/early 2010s tech innovation boom. For companies like Palm, HTC, and BlackBerry, the philosophy behind their phone interfaces was to make it as easy as possible, both in navigation and on the eyes.EARLY HTC
While the original Makani was originally inspired by the Palm Pre and BB Torch, those elements have been lessened in favour of a similar style to early HTC/Google, both with the Sooner prototype and the HTC Dream - the first Android phones.

Makani's main quick-task feature is Shades, a series of built-in widgets.Daydream comes with two styles of shades for both the Calendar and Media Player. If you're comfortable with KLWP, you could even make your own style (or your own shade).
Both the calendar shade and media shade come in two different styles.
CALENDAR
Default: A basic overview of the date and upcoming events.
PowerUser: An interactive calendar that lets you see all your events for the month.
MEDIA
DreamPod: An enhanced version of the original media shade, condensing info and buttons into a more organized layout.
Makani Classic: The old layout from Makani v1, but with new buttons.
You can pick between the two in the Globals list when editing Daydream in KLWP.
Other than the matter of buying KLWP Pro (or getting pro features for free using KLWP AOSP), Makani Daydream is free for you to download, use, and tinker around with! Unlike Makani v1, exporting has been enabled - so you can export and share your setups with others if you wish!
